Le 30 août 2025, l’Alliance Capverdienne de Lyon a accueilli le Premier ministre Ulisses Correia e Silva pour une rencontre exceptionnelle avec les associations de la diaspora.
The Prime Minister of Cape Verde meets with the diaspora in Lyon
On Saturday, August 30, 2025, the Cape Verdean Alliance of Lyon had the honor of welcoming His Excellency Mr. Ulisses Correia e Silva, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cape Verde, for an exceptional meeting organized at the Maison Ravier, in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon.
Organised at the invitation of the Cape Verdean Alliance, this meeting brought together members of the community as well as representatives of Cape Verdean associations from several cities in France and Switzerland, including Lyon, Nice, Marseille, Paris, Amiens, Geneva and Lausanne.
This day provided an opportunity to discuss the essential role of the diaspora, its attachment to Cape Verde and its contribution to the development, solidarity and cultural influence of the country.
Discussions also focused on the transmission of Cape Verdean culture, the mobilization of associations, youth, and strengthening ties between Cape Verdean institutions and communities living abroad.
The Prime Minister praised the commitment and solidarity regularly demonstrated by the Cape Verdean diaspora, particularly during difficult periods experienced by the archipelago.
For the Cape Verdean Alliance of Lyon, this visit represents an important moment in its history. It testifies to the role played by the association as a place of gathering, dialogue and connection between Cape Verde and its diaspora in the Lyon region.
